Customer Challenge / Issue
The formation of foam during the various stages of papermaking leads to process interruptions. A decrease in machine productivity can cause defects in the quality of the final paper. It also makes it difficult to control tank levels and hydraulic circuits, increasing the risk of overflow, unnecessary washing, and material loss. This situation leads to additional costs in water, energy, and additives, while reducing the overall productivity of the plant.
Axchem Solution
Axchem has developed products which are helping to reduce and control foam. AXFOAM® products have been developed to work under every temperature condition from 20°C to 70°C (68°F to 158°F) by deaerating the water and/or preventing surface foam.
Two technologies are available to suit your needs:
- Water base defoamers: Improve drainage, machine speed and circuit stability
- Oil based defoamers: Effectively control surface foaming and reduce sizing consumption.
Our products comply with BfR & FDA food regulations, enabling their use on paper intended for food contact.
With AXFOAM®, processes can be stabilized, which improves operational efficiency and running costs.
